Should I take my puppy to obedience classes?
You should take your puppy to obedience classes as soon as he/she has had the full course of vaccinations. Obedience classes provide a number of benefits to you and your puppy:
- Your puppy will get to socialise with lots of dogs of other breeds and sizes.
- You will learn techniques for training your puppy at home.
- You may get to see some extremely well behaved dogs, acting as a role model for your puppy and for you to see what can be achieved with dogs.
If you can't find obedience or puppy classes near where you live you should try to find out as much as possible about dog training by reading books, talking to other owners and researching on the Internet.
