The Puppy Guide: All you need to know about getting and looking after a puppy.

Is it true that puppies teeth?

Puppies, just like humans, will have two sets of teeth in their lifetime - baby teeth and adult teeth. A puppy's baby teeth will usually fall out one at a time between three and six months of age, depending on the individual. In its place adult teeth will start to grow through.

Sometimes you may find a tooth and the puppy's gums may bleed. Bleeding is usually nothing to worry about but if you are worried contact your veterinary surgeon. At other times the tooth may have fallen out and have been swallowed by the puppy or be swept up or vacuumed without you knowing.

During the teething phase puppies will chew a lot! You should make sure they have plenty of chew toys to prevent them chewing into your furniture and belongings.
