The Puppy Guide: All you need to know about getting and looking after a puppy.

Why do I need pet insurance for my puppy?

You should get pet insurance for your puppy as soon as you can. Pet Insurance gives you peace of mind should your puppy become ill or injured. Most pet insurance policies will cover:

  • Vet's fees should your puppy become ill or injured.
  • Public liability cover, should your puppy cause an accident or injury to someone.
  • Accidental death of your puppy.
  • Loss or theft of your puppy.

Some policies will include cover to put your puppy in kennels should you be hospitalised. Most policies will not cover routine veterinary care or vaccinations.

Always shop around to make sure you find the best policy to suit you and check the details of your policy carefully to check it covers what you need.

Pet Insurance for your puppy can start from as little as £5 a month and you may get a discount for insuring more than one pet with the same company.
