Rottweiler Puppy
The Rottweiler (pronounced Rottviler) has developed a reputation as a rather fierce dog. Although it can be hostile towards strangers or intruders, it is affectionate towards its family.
The Rottweiler takes its name from a small town in Germany - Rottweil, where the breed is believed to have crossed the Alps from Italy with the Romans. The meat for soldiers was transported 'on the hoof', which required strong, skilful dogs.
Rottweilers need frequent exercise and obedience training. This is best started when they are young, as puppies.
The breed usually grows to around 58-68 cm in height, with a medium length coat in black with tan or mahogany markings.
